ABOUT
My name is Moises Linares and I’m a Mexican-American filmmaker, visual storyteller, multimedia content producer, and musician based in South Florida. For more than a decade, I’ve been creating stories across film, digital media, education, music, and branded content. My work has taken many forms, from documentary shorts and artist profiles to social media campaigns, promotional films, live productions, and educational content. What connects all of it is a simple idea: finding the story and figuring out the most engaging way to tell it. Today, much of my work is focused on higher education, where I collaborate with faculty, university leadership, instructional designers, and creative teams to bring ideas and experiences to life through video. I produce and direct everything from online learning and interviews to documentary-style stories and live productions, combining filmmaking, motion design, sound, and emerging production technologies to create work that feels human, intentional, and visually engaging.
My background in music has always influenced the way I approach storytelling. As a drummer, I think a lot about rhythm, pacing, dynamics,and knowing when something needs space. Those same instincts find their way into my editing and filmmaking. In 2020, I founded 4BEAT MEDIA as way to document the stories of South Florida musicians through short documentaries, beginning with artists whose work and livelihoods were affected by the pandemic.
When I’m not behind a camera or an editing timeline, you’ll probably find me behind a drum kit with my experimental funk group, POCKiT, working on a film project, or drinking an unreasonable amount of coffee. I’m also a devoted fan of Mexican food, sushi, and watching immigrant players take over the NBA.
